How We Work Together
We use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), the gold standard for helping people regulate emotions and communicate effectively.
Why I Started Kin Well Therapy
Research clearly shows that our mental health is positively impacted by the quality of our relationships (and vice versa), yet there are still only very limited services available for parents, couples and families.
I started Kin Well Therapy to provide more of these much-needed services. Equally important though, is the quality of the services. At Kin Well Therapy, our therapists are intensively trained, with specialized knowledge in working with couple and family relationships. Our team is also supported by of one of the world’s leading researchers in couples and family therapy, Dr. Alan Fruzzetti, Ph.D.

I am a MSW and Registered Social Worker (#821566) with the OCSWSSW, with almost 15 years specializing in couples, parent, and family work. I'm intensively trained in DBT and am the only Canadian team member at The Center for DBT and Families, an international training and supervision organization.
I am also certified as an Emotion Focused Therapist (completed under the supervision of Dr. Les Greenberg).
My training background includes Women's College Hospital, CAMH, and a year long fellowship in Family Therapy at SickKids Hospital. I also worked for 7 years in a group psychology private practice.

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. The exceptions are situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law — I'll walk through these limits with you in our first session.
-
This varies by family and goals. Some come for a focused, short-term intervention, while others require a longer period of support. We'll check in regularly on progress and adjust as needed.
